WALKING PHOTOGRAPHY

Maybe because I learned how to use my camera within the context of my walking project, photography and motion are inextricably linked for me. One without the other can be perfectly enjoyable but to really hit the spot, I need both.

Donning a daypack full of camera gear, water, and a few delicious snacks and stepping out my front door with only the vaguest idea of where I’ll end up is, for me, the quintessence of joy. Having a camera in my hands emboldens me and enhances the exhilaration of being out in the world exploring.

The photos throughout this site represent both my walks throughout Santa Cruz County and those along the California coast. They range from my first project walk on December 8, 2013 to my most recent coastal walk on December 20, 2024. I will continue to include photos of the coastal walks as that project unfolds.
